Metcalf Bottoms & Little Brier Gap | Hiking to Walker Sisters Cabin

Join us for a beautiful hike through the quieter side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park as we start at Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area and make our way along the Metcalf Bottoms Trail and Little Brier Gap Trail with a stop at the historic Walker Sisters Cabin. Along the way, we stop at the Little Greenbrier School, explore the history tucked away in this peaceful corner of the Smokies, and continue through the woods to the Walker Sisters homestead. The Walker Sisters were among the last residents to remain on their land after the creation of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Visiting their cabin gives you a glimpse into what life was like for families who called these mountains home long before they became a national park.
