SHIRLEY SCOTT on Steinway Piano PLAYS THE BLUES in PHILLY - 1995

Known as the “Queen of the Organ”, Shirley Scott is on piano here - and it’s a STEINWAY. Such were the production values of the Tony Williams Jazz Scholarship Festival, a regular Labor Day Weekend event in Philadelphia for more than 20 years. (Regrettably, it is no longer being staged.) This festival has as its namesake a jazz educator and saxophonist who many expect to be a DRUMMER. (No, this Tony Williams is not the late, great percussionist of the same name.) http://TonyWIlliamsSaxman.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Blues Everywhere” : Shirley Scott - Steinway piano, Arthur Harper - bass, Eddie Jones - drums. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirley... http://www.jazzlists.com/SJ_Shirley_S...
