GPT-6 Astra Review: Is It Actually Worth Using?

GPT-6 Astra is incredibly powerful but after using it for coding, deep research, browser tasks, and complex workflows, I realized I was using it wrong. In this video, I test GPT-6 Astra on real work to figure out what it’s actually good for, when you should use it instead of faster ChatGPT models, and whether the extra usage is worth it. I used Astra on a large coding project through Codex, gave it a research task that searched across dozens of websites, and watched it work autonomously through a browser when things didn’t go according to plan. That’s when the difference started to make sense. Astra didn’t impress me because every answer suddenly felt dramatically smarter. It impressed me because I could give it more of the actual job and spend less time babysitting it. But there’s a tradeoff. I managed to burn through basically my entire weekly GPT-6 Astra allowance in about 7–8 hours of heavy use across coding, Work, research, and testing.
