Target Audience: Students and parents who are new to the abacus or just beginning to learn the abacus
Prerequisite Knowledge: Access to a physical abacus is recommended. For sighted people or some people with low vision, a simulated abacus like UAbacus can also be used.
Lesson Plan Goal: To understand how to set, clear, and read numbers on the abacus; (subject to change depending on the needs of attendees)
Materials Needed: An abacus of any kind, preferably a Crammer style abacus; for sighted or low vision participants, an app such as UAbacus can be used.
