We're Going to Build One of These Wooden Boats: Bantry Bay Gig Boat Plans

Come see one of these boats on May 24 in Amesbury at our shop! https://www.lowellsboatshop.org/events It'll fill the shop from front to back, and we'll have to modify our workbenches, but what a great chance to work with another nonprofit organization that also promotes traditional skills and trades! Is it our biggest boat yet? We can't prove it just now, but it is quite likely that this Bantry Bay Gig will be the largest that Lowell's has ever churned out... at least, length-wise. Learn more about Atlantic Challenge USA by coming on May 24 to Lowell's Boat Shop to see one of these boats and hear a presentation with lots of beautiful video and images of the Atlantic Challenge International competition of seamanship. https://www.atlanticchallengeusa.org/ *** A National Historic Landmark and working museum, Lowell’s is dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the art and craft of wooden boat building. In our boatbuilding and shop update videos, we're hoping to take you inside our living museum where we build new boats for clients, restore boats for other museums, and provide a space for events and on-the-water programs for all ages. Our museum is open for guided and self-guided tours. Visit http://lowellsboatshop.com/ to see how you can become a member, attend a program, or get involved in boatbuilding workshops.
