Settle in for the FULL Nairobi-to-Kampala bus journey aboard Simba Cool East Africa! 🇰🇪🚌🇺🇬 Follow this roughly 14-hour adventure through Kenya and into Uganda, from our afternoon departure to the overnight journey and arrival in Kampala the following morning. This extended version gives you more time on the road: the changing scenery, towns along the route, night driving and the experience of travelling between two East African capitals. We leave Nairobi and travel through Naivasha, Nakuru and Kisumu before reaching Busia for the Kenya–Uganda border crossing. Along the way, we catch up with and pass Kampala-bound buses that departed Nairobi ahead of us. But our early progress comes up against frustrating delays. At the Ugandan border, we arrive first among the buses but leave third after a customs hold-up lasting close to two hours. Further along, a Uganda Revenue Authority checkpoint at Bustema adds another 50 minutes while agents inspect the bus and its contents again following the checks at Busia. Once cleared, we continue through Uganda, passing Jinja before finally reaching Kampala. From the open highway to the waiting at checkpoints, this journey captures both the appeal and the frustrations of cross-border bus travel. Get comfortable and come along for the full experience! 📍 ROUTE Nairobi → Naivasha → Nakuru → Kisumu → Busia → Bustema → Jinja → Kampala 🚌 Operator: Simba Cool East Africa 🌍 Countries: Kenya and Uganda 🎬 Version: Full journey Which part of this route is your favourite?
