Vietnam's Most Beautiful Place? (It rained all day)

One rainy day in Ninh Bình, Vietnam: a boat through the karst mountains of Tràng An, caves you row straight through, and the lantern-lit stairs of Bái Đính in the mist. Best watched in 4K with headphones. It rained the whole day in Ninh Bình. In Tràng An, rowers in conical hats took the boats down the river between the mountains, into caves so low and dark you lose the light completely, and out again into green. In the afternoon I climbed through the lantern corridors of Bái Đính to the golden Buddha, and from the top of the pagoda the whole valley had disappeared into mist. The next morning I walked the path along the lake before leaving. Nobody here was in a hurry. After a while, neither was I.
