"Awakening the sleeping person and exploring the three states of the self—waking, dream, and deep sleep"—this profound section from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad (starting from II.1.15) forms the core of this discourse. Through the insightful dialogue between King Ajatashatru and Gargya Balaki, the talk examines the true nature of the Atman beyond the senses and prana, investigating where the conscious individual rests during deep sleep and from where it returns upon waking, uncovering the highest non-dual truth of Vedanta.
This discourse in Bengali is part of a systematic study of the 'Brihadaranyaka Upanishad'. It is part of a dedicated effort to preserve and share the authentic wisdom of Indian scriptures in their purest form. Our goal is the selfless dissemination of spiritual truth for the benefit of all seekers.
These talks were delivered at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur Math.
