At the beginning, I’m trying to make everything feel manageable. I measure my breath, count the passing days, and search for gentler ways to understand the pain. But my hands still tremble and the memories still speak. The flame in the chorus isn’t some grand moment of salvation—it’s the smallest part of me that remains willing to keep moving. The bridge carries the heart of the song: “Not to conquer, not to tame.” I’m not entering myself to silence the wounded voice waiting inside. I’m meeting it, listening to it, and allowing it to exist without judgment. Crossing that threshold means accepting what remains without letting it control everything that comes next. By the outro, the darkness hasn’t disappeared. It has simply receded enough for me to see a way forward. I’m no longer denying the past or allowing it to imprison me. I’m carrying its light into whatever years I have left. Musically, I wanted the song to feel like a ritual crossing—hypnotic progressive-metal movement, mounting tension, atmospheric space, and cathartic release. The threshold isn’t the end of my journey. It’s the first honest step inward.
