Preserving the Harvest & Planting for the Future #lifeover60 #gardening

Welcome back to Nana's Wild Life 🌿 Autumn is moving on, and there is still plenty to do before winter arrives. In this week's video I get a few things ready for the harvest market, talk about why I started making these videos, and get on with preserving some of the things I've grown — either for the market or to enjoy later in the season. On a raily gardening day, lunch is cooked inside the tiny cottage using my own vegetables. Once the rain clears, I head back out into the veg garden to dig holes and plant sea buckthorns. There's also a little outdoor-fire cooking before the day is done. The following day I return to the field to see what I managed to accomplish and what I hope to get done in the garden next week. When I started recording these videos, my intention was to document the beginning of my edible food forest project. I haven't actually got around to starting that part yet! Instead, somehow, I've spent a lot of time building a tiny cottage and making a life around the garden. 😊 So for now, the food forest can wait — there is always something else to grow, cook, preserve, plant or build.
