The Gao family builds a new house for their son, Gao Zhipeng, before his wedding—but leaves no driveway on their own property, expecting to use their neighbor Zhou Chuan’s land for free as a permanent access road and storage area.
Rather than arguing, Zhou Chuan quietly gathers evidence and waits. On the day of the wedding, he finally restores his property boundary, leaving the wedding convoy unable to pass. The Gao family first tries to pay him for access, then pressures other villagers to turn against him, but nothing works. They eventually claim that the disputed land should be used for the benefit of the entire village.
Zhou Chuan takes them at their word and offers his old house as a potential site for a new village public restroom. The Gao family responds with complaints, reports, and repeated attempts to block construction, but every effort fails.
In the end, they are forced to tear down the extra side structure they built on their own property to create proper access. The public restroom is completed for the entire village, and the boundary between the two families’ properties is finally settled once and for all.
