Florida Camping + Hidden Food Gems | St. Augustine Birthday Weekend Vlog

Come along on a cozy, quirky Florida camping weekend at Faver-Dykes State Park just outside historic St. Augustine as we celebrate Kim’s birthday with great food, peaceful nature, roadside oddities, vintage treasures, live music, and classic Old Florida vibes. We kicked off our road trip with an unforgettable swamp burger and Reuben sandwich at Sparky's Place Restaurant in Astor — absolutely worth the stop. After settling into our quiet campsite surrounded by mossy trees and Florida wilderness, a thunderstorm rolled through overnight that sounded like the sky was splitting in half… but thankfully we stayed dry and cozy in the tent. The next morning started perfectly with campsite coffee made by my boyfriend before we headed into downtown St. Augustine for a birthday lunch at DJ's Clam Shack, the famous seafood spot featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We wandered the historic streets, listened to live music, grabbed gelato, and soaked in the atmosphere of one of Florida’s most charming cities. On the drive, we stopped at one of those wonderfully weird Old Florida roadside attractions filled with tourist trinkets, gator jerky, fruit stands, quirky collectibles, vintage treasures, and possibly the funniest bathroom decor I’ve ever seen in my life. Somewhere between the homemade praline pecan ice cream (which I went back for twice because apparently self-control packed up and left Florida) and browsing vintage booths, I found an amazing pop art painting of a woman in sunglasses with bright red lips. I decided to “think about it.” Rookie mistake. She was gone when we came back. The thrift gods giveth and taketh away. This is mostly an ambient travel vlog set to music with occasional narration — full of peaceful camping scenes, Florida nature, roadside Americana, seafood stops, vintage shopping inspiration, and slow travel moments from Central Florida to St. Augustine.
