Thermodynamic processes are ways in which a thermodynamic system (like a gas) changes from one state (pressure, volume, temperature) to another. These processes describe how energy is transferred—mainly as heat (Q) and work (W). 1. Isothermal Process (Constant Temperature) Temperature remains constant (T = constant) Heat added = Work done Governed by Boyle’s Law: PV=constant Example: Slow compression of gas in a cylinder where heat escapes 2. Adiabatic Process (No Heat Exchange) No heat transfer (Q = 0) Temperature changes due to work done Equation: PVγ =constant (γ = ratio of specific heats) Example: Rapid compression/expansion of gas (like in engines) 3. Isobaric Process (Constant Pressure) Pressure remains constant (P = constant) Volume and temperature change Work done: W=P(V2 −V1) Example: Heating water in an open container 4. Isochoric (Isovolumetric) Process (Constant Volume) Volume remains constant (V = constant) No work is done (W = 0) Heat added only changes internal energy Example: Heating gas in a sealed rigid container #thermodynamicprocesses #isobaric #isochoric #isothermal #adiabatic #cyclicprocess #system #surroundings #work #heat #chemclasses, #shorts, #youtubeshorts, #shortvideos,#shortsfeed, #trending Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physicsl Chmeistry, NEET, JEE, Class-12th, class 11th, CBSE, NCERT, PMT, CSIR-NET, JRF, MSc, BSc, Competetive exams,
