In 1993, on the occasion of his 75th birthday, in the beautiful mountains of the town of Panchgani, India, Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar taught a ten-day workshop to a group of visiting teachers from around the world. In teaching this course, Guruji Iyengar's intention was to clarify the basic principles of asana and pranayama practice in great depth, covering physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the practice that could be applied to all asanas. His theme is to broaden and expand consciousness through his precise instructions, achieving the correct execution of the asanas and thus indicating the presence of the 5 elements in the different parts of the body. In this video, he briefly explains where these 5 elements are in the expansion and extension of the fingers and palm of the hand when performing Adhomuka Svanasana.
