According to Mansa DSP Harjinder Singh Gill, the action stems from an NDPS case registered at City-1 Police Station following the seizure of 500 grams of commercial heroin from Malkit Singh’s son, Kulwinderjit Singh. Police records indicate that Kulwinderjit faces 3 criminal cases, Malkit Singh has 17 registered FIRs, and his other son Maninderjit Singh is named in one case. However, the enforcement drive has sparked an intense political row in the district. Malkit Singh’s wife, Sarabjit Kaur, vehemently denied the allegations, alleging political vendetta and stating that her husband had already been acquitted in previous cases. She maintained that the frozen residence is an ancestral property with no link to illicit drug money, confirming that the family will challenge the police notice in court.
