On 30 September 2026, Disability Support Services (DSS) hosted a Provider Quality Forum focused on the implementation of the Enhanced Audit Programme and the insights emerging from the programme's early stages. The forum provided providers with an update on how the Enhanced Audit Programme is being applied in practice, shared early observations from audits completed to date, and outlined what providers can expect as the programme continues to roll out across disability support services. The forum covered: Early observations and key insights from audits completed so far A walk-through of the Enhanced Audit Programme framework and how it is being applied in practice Next steps and what providers can expect as the programme expands over time Opportunities for providers to ask questions and seek clarification Providers also heard directly from DSS and audit partner KPMG, gaining greater insight into the programme's approach to assessing quality, safeguarding, and service effectiveness in a consistent, transparent, and outcomes-focused way. The Enhanced Audit Programme supports DSS's commitment to improving the quality, safety, and effectiveness of disability support services, with a strong focus on the experiences and outcomes of disabled people and their whānau.
