In today's bonsai session, I'm giving my Privet bonsai the attention it deserves by cleaning out old growth, removing unwanted shoots, wiring the branches, and finally setting the apex to improve the overall design and silhouette. Every great bonsai is built one step at a time, and establishing the apex is one of the most important stages in creating a believable, mature tree. I'll explain my thought process as I work through the tree and show you how these small changes can make a huge difference.
