This is a 55 minute drive to cross seven historic bridges in Frederick County Maryland. Although it hits one covered bridge (Loys Station - which is a reproduction), the other historic bridges are tucked away in backroads and farms. We will cross Le Gore Bridge (1903), Old Mill Road Iron Bridge (1882 - Closed because someone tried to drive a large truck across it), Loys Station Covered Bridge (1848 but burned down by an arsonist in 1991 and a replica opened in 1994), Mumma Ford Bridge (1911), Sixes Bridge (1910), Grimes Road Bridge (1914), and Fourpoints Iron Bridge (1876). Lots of details about these can be found at: https://historicbridges.org/b_a_list.... and the details of the Loys Station Arson at: http://www.mdcoveredbridges.com/loys....
