Хотя конечно они не заменят моих старых и верных друзей, даже тех, с кем у нас случились разногласия, но они всё равно вернулись ко мне. Here is the story of how Shadow accidentally sees a performance staged by people, with the participation of Arrax. The story of taming and reverent attitude touches Shadow, as well as the usual human fuss before the holiday attracts her, and she decides to take a walk around the New Year's Village under the guise of a light. However, she is noticed by a girl who confuses her with a local dragon and runs towards her. Shadow comes out of hiding and freezes, not knowing what to do next. She gets scared and looks away, but the little girl looks at the beautiful white dragon with delight. Shadow realizes that she really misses the company of people and such lovely children, so she decides to try to come to the main celebration. She finds a large hall and enters it, attracting everyone's attention, including Arrax. The young dragon is delighted, because finally his girlfriend accepted people! He runs to her, they hug joyfully and he licks her nose. Then Shadow notices Jim, who is standing aside and smiling. Shadow decides on a desperate act and goes straight to him. They look at each other, and Shadow lets Jim stroke him.
