I bought this big old village house for next to nothing — and the surprises started before I even stepped inside: a strange old trailer in the yard, an iron used as a door handle, and an attic packed with things nobody came back for.
Three windows, a fence, a huge attic and that quiet village atmosphere. People keep leaving the countryside for noisy cities, and old houses like this one sell for almost nothing. I'm heading the other way — toward nature, fresh air and silence. Today I open the lock and walk in for the first time, together with you.
The first surprise waits in the yard: a big, strange trailer. Then the front door — instead of a handle, someone used an old iron! Now that's a life hack. Behind the door: bright lime-green walls, a US flag, a butterfly beating against the glass, a pickaxe with a broken handle, a beautiful coat rack that's back on the wall within minutes, a mirrored secretary cabinet with its glass still intact… and then, out of nowhere, a skateboard. In a village surrounded by nothing but dirt and grass?!
Then the attic. Clothes still hanging, a child's crib, four glass carafes — did someone collect them? A whole basket of faceted glasses, a washtub that looks a hundred years old, a disassembled wooden sled, suitcases, an antique timepiece with a picture on it, a tiny perfume bottle, an old jar of apple juice. Then something that makes me stop: what looks like a shell casing… and a few minutes later, a real holster.
And this is only the attic. More discoveries are waiting in the house and around it.
