TRUST GOD IN EVERY SEASON | Catholic Morning Prayer | September 28, 2026 Begin this new week with Sacred Echoes of Grace and this Catholic Morning Prayer for Monday, September 28, 2026, the Monday of the 26th Week in Ordinary Time. Today's prayer brings together the powerful witness of Job, the trusting cry of the Psalmist, and Jesus' teaching about humility and true greatness. The First Reading from Job 1:6–22 brings us into one of Scripture's most difficult moments. Job experiences devastating loss, yet he refuses to turn away from God. “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” The Responsorial Psalm gives voice to the heart that seeks God in the midst of uncertainty: “Incline your ear to me and hear my word.” In the Gospel from Luke 9:46–50, the disciples argue about who is the greatest. Jesus responds by placing a child beside Him and teaching that true greatness is found in humility. He also teaches His disciples not to prevent someone from doing good simply because that person does not belong to their immediate circle. This Morning Prayer invites us to ask: What am I trying to control that I need to surrender to God? Where is pride or comparison disturbing my peace? Can I remain faithful when circumstances do not unfold as I hoped? Today, we entrust to God everything we cannot control and ask for the humility to serve without seeking recognition. 🙏 Pray for strength during times of suffering and uncertainty. 🙏 Pray for families experiencing loss or hardship. 🙏 Pray for the sick and those who care for them. 🙏 Pray for Christians facing persecution because of their faith. 🙏 Pray for peace in places affected by war and violence. 🙏 Pray for those seeking employment or struggling financially. 🙏 Pray for those who feel forgotten or overlooked. 🙏 Entrust your personal intentions and loved ones to God. Today the Church also remembers Saint Wenceslaus and Saint Lorenzo Ruiz and his Companions, faithful martyrs who gave courageous witness to Christ. We also continue our September devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows, asking Mary to accompany everyone who carries suffering and to lead us closer to Jesus.
