There is a town in Pennsylvania that has been on fire underground since 1962, and the state finally gave up and wiped it off the map. And it is not even the strangest place out here. In this one we count down 13 of the weirdest and most isolated towns in Pennsylvania: the ghost towns, the ruins, and the places that got cut off from the rest of the world. We start with a mountaintop resort that saws its own frozen lake into a toboggan run, a legal borough of about 15 people, a company town named after an anti-union contract, and a coal town you can only reach on foot. Then it gets stranger. The old patch town that became a Hollywood movie set. The concrete village that could not be torn down even with dynamite. The farm village the War Department seized in six weeks for a TNT plant. From there we get into the town and the Seneca land drowned behind the Kinzua Dam, the oil boomtown of 20,000 people that vanished in about a year and a half, and the paper mill town wiped out by its own dam in 1911. Then a Norwegian violinist's failed colony, a man who legally signed his whole town over to God, and finally Centralia, the coal town that has been burning underground for more than 60 years. Everything in this video is real, and most of it is still out there if you know where to look. Which of these have you seen for yourself? Tell me in the comments. #Pennsylvania #GhostTowns #Centralia #AbandonedPlaces #PennsylvaniaHistory
