Ground Reality in Peshawar: On the first day after imposition of Governor Rule and Emergency in KP, no protest was observed by PTI in any part of the country. On the second day, dozens of workers staged a protest in Bara, District Khyber - the native area of suspended Chief Minister Sohail Afridi - to disperse them, police resorted to aerial firing. In Peshawar, at Hashtnagri on GT Road, a few workers tried to gather intermittently on protest call, but police dispersed them. Peshawar Red Zone has been sealed with containers and barriers. Armored vehicles of police, heavy deployment and prisoners vans are visible at different places in the city. Aviation Training Aircraft Crash Near Quetta: According to ISPR, on 12th October 2026 at noon, a Mushshak training aircraft of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Nawan Kali, Quetta due to technical fault. Both pilots, Instructor Pilot Major Hasnain Shahzad Humayun and Student Pilot Captain Abdul Samad embraced martyrdom in the incident. Petition in Peshawar High Court: A petition has been filed in Peshawar High Court against the imposition of Emergency and Governor Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by Advocate Salman. The President of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan and Governor KP have been made parties. The petition states that the imposition is unconstitutional, illegal, mala fide, against fundamental rights and democratic mandate, and has requested to declare it illegal and suspend the notification till final decision. Provincial Apex Committee Meeting: An important meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee was held at Governor House Peshawar under the chairmanship of Governor Faisal Karim Kundi. The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, members of Advisory Council, Corps Commander Peshawar, Chief Secretary, IG Police and other senior civil and military officials. The forum paid tribute to martyrs, reviewed overall security situation, decided to continue intelligence-based operations, increase operational capacity of Police and CTD with modern equipment, armored vehicles, weapons and manpower, and to focus on education, health and living standards of people of KP for sustainable peace and development.
