I moved to Serbia six months ago. Since then, I've made Novi Sad my home, got temporary residency, opened a bank account, found an apartment and started figuring out what living in Serbia is actually like. In this video, I share six things I've learned after six months living in Serbia. How surprisingly easy it was to get established, the sense of personal freedom, Serbian culture and identity, the importance of actually participating in life here, the challenge of learning the language... and why, six months later, I'm happier here than I was in the UK. This isn't an attempt to convince anyone to move to Serbia, and six months certainly doesn't make me an expert. It's simply my experience as a British guy who came to Serbia with no plan and unexpectedly decided to stay. If you're considering moving to Serbia, looking at Serbian temporary residency, thinking about Novi Sad or Belgrade, or simply curious about what everyday life in Serbia is really like for a foreigner, hopefully this gives you a useful perspective. I’ll be documenting more of what I discover about Serbia - the culture, history, food, wine, people, places and the practical realities of building a life here as I go. #Serbia #LivingInSerbia #NoviSad
