Acknowledge Hate Is Fun; Now Work Through It

🔴 Live most weekdays ~10 AM–4 PM ET →   / gamemasterthompson   (follow for the go-live ping) Hating is fun. It's fun to hate people. Now work through it. A between-games monologue on René Girard's scapegoat, Carl Schmitt, borders and personhood, radical love, and Viktor Frankl. I preach from the gutter, not the mountaintop: I've been banned six times. Girard says society builds pressure against a scapegoat until it turns violent, and that the cross was the answer. Peter Thiel cites Girard and Carl Schmitt; Schmitt's borders decide who counts as a person, which is how the Nazis did it. My answer: a radical submission to love, love as a force of vengeance, and the honest optimism Frankl found in a sunset between two buildings in Auschwitz. Contains politics, religion and war.
