The Journey Turns Brutal | Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Blind Playthrough

This is Part 2 of my blind first playthrough of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and it’s where the journey turns brutal. The difficulty spikes, the fights demand precision, and the story begins to fracture under pressure. This 52-minute episode opens with the aftermath of Gustave’s death and quickly escalates into some of the most unforgiving combat in the game so far. The Dualiste boss fight becomes a defining test of timing and precision, where a single missed parry can end the run. Experiencing this fight blind meant learning Gradient Counters and reaction windows in real time, with absolutely no room for error. As the expedition presses deeper into Old Lumière and the Red Mime Fields, the story surrounding the Masks begins to unravel. Along the way, I face the elemental Stalact, confront the manifestations of Joy and Sadness, and uncover the truth behind the Mask Keeper - the Axon operating behind the scenes. Everything builds toward the reveal surrounding Verso’s secret, setting the emotional and narrative foundation for the final chapter of this playthrough. This series was recorded before the Game of the Year announcement and is presented as a true blind experience - no guides, no spoilers, just discovery as it unfolds. 🔔 Subscribe for long-form blind RPG playthroughs 💬 What did you think of Verso’s reveal? ⏱️CHAPTERS – PART 2 00:00 Burying Gustave – Aftermath 03:10 Heading to Monoco’s Station 06:45 Ambush at the Bridge 08:20 BOSS FIGHT – Dualiste (Phase 1) 11:50 Learning Gradient Counters & Parry Timing 15:10 BOSS FIGHT – Dualiste (Final Phase) 18:30 Post-Fight Loot & Team Management 21:45 Journey to Old Lumière Ruins 25:10 Story Reveal – Verso’s Secret 28:40 Confronting Verso 32:15 BOSS FIGHT – Stalact (Elemental Trial) 35:50 Returning to Camp – Noco Breaks 38:30 Planning the Monolith Breach 41:15 Entering the Red Mime Fields 43:40 BOSS FIGHT – Mask of Joy (Jovial Moissonneuse) 46:10 BOSS FIGHT – Mask of Sadness (Sorrowful Chapelier) 48:30 Reveal – The True Axon 49:45 BOSS FIGHT – The Mask Keeper 51:20 Verso’s Intentions Clarified 52:00 Ending Cinematic & Final Thoughts
