HOW IT WORKS The rear hydraulic power unit supplies the cylinder that expands the mandrel segments against the coil bore. Manually tightened A-type stops limit axial movement. The coil stays on the mandrel as the empty loading car withdraws. The VFD sets motor running speed and controls acceleration and deceleration. The fixed gantry contact bar provides the stop signal when the strip touches it. Downstream draw lifts the strip clear, allowing forward payoff to resume after the stop sequence. The synchronized chart separates animated shaft speed (solid line), the selected VFD setting (dashed line) and strip contact (orange shading). The HIGH setting remains selected during contact stops.
