He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank Three (上じょう弦げんの参さん Jōgen no San?).[3] Over a century ago, Akaza was a human by the name of Hakuji (狛はく治じ Hakuji?)[4], a prodigious martial artist who trained under Keizo[5] while nursing his daughter, Koyuki,[6] who would later become Akaza's fiancée.[7] Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼き滅めつの刃やいば Kimetsu no Yaiba?) is the anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotoge's Kimetsu no Yaiba, animated by ufotable.\ Its first season was announced for a 26-episode run in the 27th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, on June 4th, 2018, and premiered on April 6th, 2019. The first 5 episodes were also separately compiled into a Japan-exclusive movie, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Brother and Sister's Bond. The first season was followed by a continuative movie adaptation of the Mugen Train Arc, which would later be compiled into its second season along with the Entertainment District Arc, which premiered on October 10th, 2021.
