ONE DAY: An Oliver Tree Tribute Music Video (Unreleased Song)

Since 2017 I've been following ‪@OliverTree‬ 's journey. He's one of the few artists I've gone out to see live. His vision for the universe he built across his music videos was so impressive. As an aspiring filmmaker, I couldn't believe this dude made music, directed his own videos, acted in skits, and had a comedic online persona on top of it. I've always felt like a bit of a jack of all trades myself, so I deeply admired his passion for making art in so many different ways, and his message to embrace the weird, chase your dreams, and soak up every experience life throws at you. After he passed, I rewatched a clip from the ‪@JEFFFM‬ podcast where Oliver tells people to just send it on their dreams and passions. That's the audio featured at the end of this vid. It got me thinking about how I'd always wanted to make a music video but never had. So I figured, why not finally cross that off the bucket list and make one for Oliver. One weekend, after a shoot I had planned fell through, I realized it was the perfect opportunity. Hit the thrift store, grabbed some wigs, and put an outfit together. That night I walked around the city center with a camera strapped to my body looking like a total dumbass. I'd like to think Oliver would've been stoked on it. The next afternoon we drove out to a local waterfall and filmed until sunset, and I've spent the past few weeks editing it in my free time, all on a nearly zero budget. $60 on the costume, $40 on gas, and a whole lot of my own time. I hope Oliver Tree fans are stoked on how it came out and know it's my tribute to him and his creative mind. Thanks for watching.
