The state's first witness was supposed to walk the jury through the horror. Three minutes of cross and the story changed. Sgt. Anthony Portman is a Tampa Police Department supervisor. On June 23, 2024, he and six officers were stationed at the Truth 18 Lounge a few miles from where Charles Jones, known as Julio Foolio, would be killed before sunrise. When the 4:40 AM shots-fired call came in, Portman and his squad rolled to the Holiday Inn. He's here to walk the jury through what he saw. The hotel manager comes around the corner with towels trying to clean up before morning guests see. Portman stops him. The scene keeps expanding. 28:59 to 32:14 - Gonzalez stands up. Three minutes.
