Carlos Reygadas is a Mexican filmmaker renowned for his use of long takes, hypnotic camera work, and a raw, almost naturalistic depiction of reality. His works, which often cast exclusively non-professional actors, focus on physical corporeality, the spiritual dimension of existence, and the unexpected intertwining of harsh rural life with surrealism rather than conventional narrative logic. His key films include Japón, Silent Light (Stellet Licht), and Post Tenebras Lux. This style creates a deeply visceral cinematic language, where the film's meaning comes to the forefront through atmospheric sound design, the raw authenticity of the characters, and moments of pure visual poetry. We focus on auteur cinema and conduct interviews with leading filmmakers and artists from around the world. Through these conversations, we aim to publish insights into their creative thinking and artistic practice. https://flyschflysch.com   / flyschflysch   Interviewer: Richard Tecl   / richard_tecl   Camera: Milan Mazúr   / milan_mazur   Prague, FAMU, September, 2026 Copyright Disclaimer This video includes brief excerpts from copyrighted material used solely for the purpose of commentary, analysis, and educational discussion.
