Overall, this was very floral and sweet. Splash of water dials it down a bit too much. Tried chilling the glass for a bit based on some community reviews, but not much changed with that for me. 👅Palate: Plum is still king through the palate. I did pick up some caramel, brown sugar, pound cake, and other nice sweet notes but they were pretty subtle. The feel of the palate is buttery smooth, which is nice. Splash of water enhances the plum even more, to my displeasure. 🥅 Finish: Very, very short. Too short. Not much difference in notes compared to the palate. Splash of water did nothing here. Just not my style of whiskey. Glad I gave it a try, and I'll be sure to pick up the blended version of Akashi Eigashima's flagship bottle next.
