Odoo POS Access Control | GPS Geofencing | IP Whitelist Security combines GPS-based location restrictions and IP address whitelisting in one Odoo 19 Point of Sale add-on. Control where POS registers can operate and which network connections are authorized to access them. The module is designed for retail stores, restaurants, franchise outlets, and multi-branch businesses that need flexible POS security. With GPS Geofencing, administrators can configure store latitude, longitude, allowed radius, and GPS accuracy buffer to define the permitted operating area. Choose from three security modes: Block Access to prevent POS startup outside the geofence, Read-Only Mode to restrict product additions, new orders, and payment processing outside the permitted area, or Force Exit to automatically exit the POS when GPS monitoring detects that the device has left the authorized location. The POS IP Whitelist feature allows administrators to configure multiple approved IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for each POS register. Each entry can include a description and can be activated or deactivated as needed. Invalid IP formats and duplicate entries within the same register are rejected. When IP restrictions are enabled, unlisted addresses and whitelists without active entries are denied access. Both controls are managed through POS configuration settings. Dedicated Geofencing and IP Whitelist user groups control visibility of their respective settings tabs, while existing POS permissions govern editing. IP validation applies when opening the register, including through direct POS links, and when loading session data. When both controls are enabled, IP Whitelist validation runs first, followed by GPS Geofencing. An unauthorized IP is blocked before the location check, while an approved IP must still comply with the configured GPS location rules. Key Features: Separate IP Rules for Each POS – Enable IP restrictions independently for each register and maintain a separate list of approved addresses for every shop or counter. -Block Unlisted IPs & Direct POS Links – Validate the detected IP when opening a POS register, including through direct links, and deny unauthorized connections with a message showing the detected IP. Multiple IPv4 & IPv6 Addresses – Add several approved IPv4 and IPv6 addresses to a single POS whitelist and allow access when the detected IP matches an active entry. Deactivate & Reactivate Allowed IPs – Temporarily disable saved IP entries without deleting them. Inactive entries remain available for later reactivation but no longer authorize access. Current IP Detection – Use the current IP displayed by Odoo to identify the connection address to authorize. The address shown may differ depending on whether the connection uses a local network or a proxy such as Cloudflare Tunnel. GPS Geofencing for Point of Sale – Restrict POS register access based on the device's GPS location and configured store coordinates. Block Access Outside the Geofence – Prevent POS registers from opening when the cashier is outside the designated geographical radius. Read-Only POS Mode – Allow view-only access outside the permitted area while restricting product additions, new orders, and payment processing. Real-Time GPS Monitoring & Force Exit – Monitor the device location and automatically exit the POS when the user leaves the authorized area. GPS Accuracy Buffer Tolerance – Configure an additional tolerance to accommodate GPS accuracy differences across laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Shop-Wise Location & Radius Setup – Configure individual latitude, longitude, allowed radius in meters, and GPS accuracy buffer for each POS shop.
