Hui Lai Lee 7a (trad) - Viitapohja

Climbing Hui Lai Lee 7a (trad) at Viitapohja, Tampere, Finland. This was my first 7a trad lead. Checked out the beta and protection on Friday evening and then sent the route on the first lead try on Saturday. The route follows a finger crack feature on an otherwise smooth looking wall that's about 10 degrees overhanging. Very cool looking line in my opinion. The rock quality and holds are also excellent. Other beta options that I had seen used finger locks for the crux but those felt a bit morpho for me personally so I opted for something completely different with a low left hand gaston and really high feet that allowed me to get my right hand into the crux slot. I was imagining my foot popping during this move but fortunately it didn't!
