Mike Rutzen: The Sharkman | 60 Minutes Archive

Mike Rutzen, famously dubbed "The Sharkman," free dives with sharks without the safety of a cage, using only his camera as a shield. When he took Anderson Cooper out diving in 2010 near Cape Town, South Africa, he told him he'd be safe if he projected confidence. Great whites may be the most feared predators in the sea, but Rutzen said they are not the man-eating killers they're often made out to be. "60 Minutes" is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.
