Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. Big up @Anton P yet again for this rare set. It's massively appreciated. DJ Mickey C was part of the Mission FM old guard who stayed on Y2K FM. He played UK Garage, Jungle & DNB. He also played sets on Origin FM 95.2 in the mid 2000s. Y2K FM had recently won the best station award at the UKG Awards. ‪@MCSkankerOfficial‬ was originally part of one of the most underrated Jungle collectives, the Reckless crew (Reckless Soldiers) with members like D Double E (MC Dee), MC Bruza (Sergeant Chigga D), MC Hitman Hyper, Scratcha DVA, Terror Danjah, Triple Threat (MC Lethal), Mayhem Double Trubla, DJ Interlude, MC Funsta... Skanker also did UK Garage raves and featured on London Underground FM, Flava FM, Ice FM, Raw Mission FM, Temptation FM and many other London pirates. London based Y2K FM 90.6 (Yours 2 Keep) formed in 2000 at the start of the millennium partly under the same management of the infamous Mission FM, on the same FM dial. The London 90.6 frequency modulation was formerly occupied by, Pulse FM (Jungle music), Chicago FM (House & Garage), Radio Active FM (Drum & Bass), Cyndicut FM (Drum & Bass) and its predecessor Mission FM. To those that remember Mission FM which was run by Swifty, Ricochet and Badger B (formerly one the founding members of Freek FM). At the turn of the Millennium, management split paths, Ricochet joined forces neighbouring station Raw FM 90.0 (based in north west London) taking the name Mission and joining to form Raw Mission FM 90.0 with Bionic Bossman. Meanwhile, Badger B kept ownership of 90.6FM dial calling it Y2K FM. Y2K FM managed to retain most of its top DJs and MCs, some members parting to neighbouring station Pure Magic 90.2 and to Deja Vu FM 92.3. They transmitted for roughly about 8 years from the heights of north London as a pirate radio station to inner London city and the Greater London. They attracted a wide range of listeners also supporting local musical talent in north London as well as allowing coming talent from the council estates of London, Hertfordshire and Essex. Check our Y2K FM 90.6 playlist:    • Heartless Crew & Raw Dogz | Y2K FM 90.6 | ...   Big up all the Y2K FM DJs & MCs: Badger B, Heartless Crew (DJ Fonti, MC Bushkin & MC Mighty Moe), Super Raggo Crew (DJ Sean E, DJ Mystro & MC Bossman), Bass Inject Crew (DJ Tempo, DJ Koolmak & MC Footsie), DJ Pioneer, DJ Tiny & MC Iron Head, RST & Evo, MC Mista Mee & DJ Inspiration (The Outlaws), DJ/MC Marvel, DJ Colin I & DJ Lady Legs, Boomskat Crew (DJ Papa Ibsy, DJ Decos, and MC Dr Jekyll), Partners In Vibes (DJ Smokey, DJ Steady, MC OD & MC Disco), Slaughter Mob (DJ Bandit & DJ Q-Nice, MCs Vicious V & Dangerous D), The Unusual Suspects (Double R, Mania, Leonardo & Sparks), DJ Hotsteppa ('Sex and The City' / 'Fragrance and Girls' / 'Girls, Girls'), DJ 'S' (Pure Silk), DJ Tag, DJ Wesley 2play, DJ Influence & MC Skanker, MC Whizzard (RIP), DJ Briggs, DJ Georgie Ford, DJ Nortix, DJ Ctec, DJ Dymond, DJ Shadow, DJ Fari, DJ Hot Rock, DJ Jaime Wilson, and many others. Interestingly, in 2002 the north London pirate station set up a sister station called Y2K FM Essex which transmitted on Essex's frequency of 98.3FM and 94.3FM from council estates of Southend. MC Killer initially helped with the venture but soon fell out with the north London management taking the station name and continuing to use it over in Essex. Y2K FM Essex received a lot of media publicity with the BBC making a mini series of three documentaries about the pirate station, "Tower Block Dreams" which was aired on the BBC Three in January 2004, which a precursor for People Just Do Nothing (Kurupt FM) and mockumentary which saw them make five seasons and even getting signed by Netflix.
