Welcome, and thank you for visiting as we share the breathtaking natural beauty of Korea. Sire Hobakso Pond: Stream, Sound, and Meditation Escape into peace and enjoy the beautiful valley, the soothing sound of flowing water, and a moment of quiet meditation. Nestled at the foot of the 885-meter-high Mount Baegunsan, Sire Hobakso Pond is a serene natural sanctuary. Here, crystal-clear streams cascade over pristine granite rocks, making it the perfect retreat to cool off during the heat of summer. Over millions of years, the rushing waters have carved into the white, jade-like granite, creating a unique deep pool. The name "Hobakso" originates from its striking resemblance to a hobak (a traditional stone mortar used in Korean mills). It is also historically known as "Guyeon." Local legend has it that the pond is so deep, an entire spool of silk thread could be unraveled into it without ever touching the bottom. Steeped in mystical history, this sacred site was also where ancestors gathered to pray for rain during times of severe drought. Getting There: Approximately a 1-hour drive from either Gimhae International Airport or Ulsan Airport.
