I Went to a Mountain Peak to Look for Crystals

A day at the lake turned into a rock hounding adventure to the Crystal Peak Mine in Verdi California. Just on the California/ Nevada border and 50minutes on the beaten path is a small mine that has been mined since WW2 for its Quartz crystals. I have some tips for those who plan on making it out to the Crystal Peak Mine to help you get the most out of your experience. We will be rock hounding this mine for 2 days, today is day 1 and it’s going to be a good time.
