My first days in Rio were filled with incredible views, new friends and experiences I definitely won’t forget. I hike Morro Dois Irmãos in the middle of the night to watch the sunrise over Rio, explore the famous Vidigal Favela, and experience the unique atmosphere of Rocinha, one of Rio’s largest favelas. But of course, Rio isn’t just about the mountains and favelas. I spend time relaxing on Ipanema Beach and Copacabana Beach, try some delicious açaí, pick up some Brazilian football jerseys, and explore more of what this massive city has to offer. Along the way, I meet new people at my hostel, discover different parts of Rio, and experience the city from completely different perspectives.
