This ONE Pedal Could Replace Your Entire Pedalboard | Eventide H9

The legendary Eventide H9 Harmonizer is back, but Gen 2 is far more than a simple update. In this video, we review the new Eventide H9 Harmonizer Gen 2, a compact multi-effects powerhouse featuring 74+ algorithms from the complete H90 and H9 Max libraries, over 1,000 presets, modern ARM processing and Eventide's high-fidelity SIFT polyphonic pitch-shifting technology. From Eventide's iconic harmonizer and pitch effects to delays, reverbs, modulation, distortion, synth, granular processing, looping and multi-effects, there's an enormous amount packed into one pedal. The redesigned H9 also addresses one of the biggest limitations of the original: hands-on control. There's now a 2.5" display, three Quick Knobs and dedicated controls, with full parameter editing directly from the pedal without requiring an app. HotKnob and HotSwitch functions provide real-time macro control, while stereo I/O, MIDI, expression/aux inputs, flexible Wet/Dry and Pre/Post routing, effects spillover and a built-in tuner make it equally suited to pedalboards, amp effects loops and studio rigs. And for deeper editing and preset management, Eventide Control provides USB-C and Bluetooth connectivity, with Bluetooth currently supported on Mac and iPad. The new H9 is also compatible with presets from the original H9, making this a particularly interesting upgrade for existing users. So, could the H9 Gen 2 genuinely replace a substantial chunk of your pedalboard? And with so much of the H90's effects library inside, where does this new H9 fit into Eventide's range?
