Trains are being diverted through Hebden Bridge due to a major weekend route closure between Manchester, Huddersfield, and Leeds.
Engineers are currently undertaking critical Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) works. This includes upgrades to the Calder Road bridge, Ravensthorpe station modifications, overhead power line installations, and roof canopy engineering at Huddersfield station.
Because no trains can run via Huddersfield today, the following service changes are in effect:
• TransPennine Express services traveling between Manchester Victoria and Redcar Central are being rerouted via the Calder Valley line. Extra stops are scheduled today to accommodate passengers. These diverted trains are making additional stops at Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd, and Sowerby Bridge.
• Northern services along the Calder Valley route are running on an amended timetable to handle the additional diverted train traffic.
