After a short 10 minute lesson I hit the road. Navigating out of the city was definitely a challenge! The rental cost $20 a day and I had a 75 kilometre drive ahead to reach the Heritance Tea Factory, a five star hotel in the hills of Sri Lanka. On the way I stopped at Ambuluwawa Tower, which was steep, slightly sketchy and completely worth it for the views. I also picked up some roadside samosas, bought strawberries from a local vendor, and stopped for lunch in Nuwara Eliya before finishing the drive to the hotel, which cost $160 a night.
