Crafting a pen tray for Pen-info. At first glance, the design is as minimal as it gets. Yet bringing this simple form to life takes patience, dedication, and a process with no shortcuts. In a design defined by subtraction, every touch matters. Latvian birch plywood rewards careful work with crisp, elegant layers and a seamless tactile finish. It is a quiet dialogue with the material, carried out through steady machining and hours of meticulous sanding. Along the way, you’ll also catch a glimpse of the various custom jigs we use to push both efficiency and precision. This isn’t a how-to or a technical tutorial. We simply wanted to share the care, the quiet rhythm, and the dedication behind bringing a minimal object into the world. At Nijigami Seisakusho, we specialize in custom-made wooden products. We welcome orders from individuals and businesses alike. We engage deeply with the materials, the people, and ourselves. Through this process, we discover hidden potentials and possibilities, evolve our techniques, build relationships, and foster personal growth. Through our manufacturing activities, we produce: Value for our customers Excitement for those involved A sense of accomplishment for ourselves An enjoyable work environment Pride in our work #### Origin of the Name "Nijigami" There are types of steel used in blades called "Aogami" (blue paper steel) and "Shirogami" (white paper steel). As someone with a strong attachment to hand tools, especially woodworking tools, I was fascinated by these terms. They resonated with me deeply and stayed on my mind. When deciding on a company name, I drew inspiration from these terms. Additionally, with a desire to undertake and incorporate various endeavors, I combined "Niji" (rainbow) into the name. #### Business Activities We handle both the production of original products and OEM manufacturing. **OEM Manufacturing**: We undertake a variety of projects, but we excel in producing intricate and precise items. We often take on challenging materials and mixed materials, such as leather, metal, artificial marble, ebonite, tree branches, and unseasoned wood—projects that many in the same industry tend to avoid.
