Flexible Pipe: From the Factory Floor to the Seabed

A flexible pipe is not a tube. It is a wall made of layers, and each one has a single job: a carcass that resists collapse, a polymer sheath that contains the fluid, interlocked wire that takes the hoop load, and two counter-wound armour layers that carry the tension. This episode goes through that wall from the inside out, then through the factory that builds it, and ends where these lines actually die.
