ENDING EXPLAINED | Brokeback Mountain (2005)

Brokeback Mountain (2005), directed by Ang Lee and based on Annie Proulx's short story, is a deeply emotional film that explores themes of love, repression, societal expectations, and the passage of time. The film spans over 20 years, showing how both characters grow older while their love remains unresolved. Regret and "what could have been" weigh heavily on Ennis, especially after Jack's tragic fate.
