She Noticed Something Was Wrong With the Dogs in This Alley. Every day, my mother prepares food and walks through this small alley to check on the dogs and cats living there. But feeding them isn't the only thing she does. Today, she noticed that some of the dogs were having skin problems, so she brought medication along with their meals. Some of them are easy to approach, while others are still afraid and keep their distance. Deeper inside the alley lives a shy little dog whose mother recently passed away. Now, the little one spends most of the time near an abandoned house and has to face life without her. A bowl of food, a little medicine, or simply checking whether every familiar face has shown up may seem like small things. But my mother keeps doing them, day after day. Even when she isn't feeling well, she says she can't stop wondering whether the dogs have had anything to eat. Tomorrow, she'll prepare another meal and walk the same familiar path again.
