Feature 03 New World - Spanish Language version Welcome to the year 200 million AD — the New World. Also known as the Late Futurassic or The Age of Invertebrates, this is one of the most extreme futures imagined in The Future Is Wild. By this time, Earth has changed beyond recognition. The continents have fused into a single vast supercontinent, Pangaea II, surrounded by one immense Global Ocean. The planet spins more slowly now — each day is an hour longer. The Sun burns brighter. Temperatures have risen worldwide, and the new geography drives violent, unstable weather. Hypercanes scour the oceans, while much of the land has been transformed into relentless desert. Life has finally recovered from the catastrophic 100 million AD mass extinction, but the world that emerges is nothing like the one before. Most vertebrates are gone. In their place, invertebrates rule the planet. On land, insects and molluscs dominate. In the seas, crustaceans have taken over. Even the skies belong to life forms once confined to water — flying fish soar where birds once ruled. A world where life endured — and reinvented itself. ------------ This is the 50 minute version covering all four habitats from the 200 million years hence period, produced primarily for European Broadcasters ZDF (Germany) and ORF (Austria), but sold internationally. #thefutureiswild #200millionyears #thefutureiswild #animals #speculativebiology #speculativeevolution #massextinction #futureearth #futureworlds #future #futureanimals #pangea #pangea2 #flish #megasquid #forestflish #platetectonics #shark #sharkopath #gardenworm #greatbluewindrunner #silverswimmer #zoea #crustacean #squibbon #cephalopod #extinction #deserthopper #rainbowsquid #desert #climate #beetle #bumblebeetle #science #hypercane #hurricane #globalocean #paleontology #paleobotany #paleo #rainshadow
