In this video, we solve a high-level Arithmetic Word Problem based on Percentages, Ratios, and Income-Expenditure for the RBI Grade B Quantitative Aptitude section. 📌 Question: Riya spends 20% of her monthly salary on rent. From the remaining, she spends Rs. 5000 on flight ticket. Out of the remaining she invested the amount in insurance premiums and savings in the ratio of 3 : 2. If the amount spent on rent is Rs. 4000 less than the amount invested in insurance premiums, then find the monthly salary of Riya. Options: 1) Rs. 35000 2) Rs. 45000 3) Rs. 25000 4) Rs. 20000 5) Rs. 15000 --------------------------------------------------- 💡 Detailed Solution / हल: • Let total monthly salary = S • Rent spent = 20% of S = 0.2S • Remaining after rent = 0.8S • Spent on flight ticket = Rs. 5000 • Remaining after flight ticket = 0.8S - 5000 • This remaining amount is divided between Insurance Premium and Savings in 3 : 2 ratio: Insurance Premium = (3/5) × (0.8S - 5000) = 0.48S - 3000 • Given condition: Insurance Premium - Rent = 4000 (0.48S - 3000) - 0.2S = 4000 0.28S - 3000 = 4000 0.28S = 7000 S = 7000 / 0.28 S = 25000 • Correct Answer: Option (3) Rs. 25000 --------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to our channel for daily high-level Quantitative Aptitude concepts, practice questions, and exam-oriented shortcut methods for RBI Grade B, NABARD Grade A, and SBI PO exams! --------------------------------------------------- Copyright Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
