Years of anticipation, shifting timelines, ambitious promises, impressive showcases, technical milestones and the ever-present feeling that the finish line is finally getting closer... probably. This original satirical musical turns the long and winding journey of Squadron 42 into a full-blown Broadway-style space opera, complete with dramatic orchestration, theatrical despair, unreasonable amounts of hope and a healthy dose of “maybe next year.” It’s made for everyone who has followed the project through the years, whether you’re still excited, increasingly skeptical, patiently waiting, or somehow all three at once. The joke comes from frustration, but also from genuine fascination with the ambition behind the project. Because after all these years, there’s still one thing many of us have in common: We really want to finally play it.
