Starting Over in an African Village 🌿 Building My Dream Home Slowly & Cooking Traditional Beef Stew

Welcome to African Country Living with Jackie! ❤️🌿 Today marks the beginning of a beautiful new chapter in my African village life. After taking a four-month break, I am starting over again on this new channel, sharing my everyday lifestyle, gardening, traditional cooking, sustainable living and the journey of building my dream home in the village. In this first video, I take you along as I introduce myself and welcome you into my little world in rural Africa. My dream home has reached the beam level and is getting ready for roofing! I previously documented the construction journey on my old channel, Jackie's Lifestyle, but now I am excited to continue sharing the progress and new memories here. My day begins with cleaning up the compound, slashing the overgrown grass, collecting rubbish and putting organic garden waste into my vegetable garden to use as natural mulch. I then prepare firewood, light my traditional three-stone cooking fire and begin preparing a delicious farm-to-table lunch. Today's meal is traditional beef stew, slowly cooked over a wood fire, together with food wrapped in fresh banana leaves and left to steam until perfectly ready. Along the way, some of my neighbours' children join me, and we share a lovely meal together as I wait for the builders to arrive and continue working on my dream home. This is more than just a cooking video.
